How To Lose Ten Pounds in a Single Day
Sounds unbelievable; doesn't it?
I sure didn't believe it when I first learned this technique.
I heard it from a friend who was very athletic and enjoyed amateur boxing. Maybe someone who weighs 500 pounds could lose 10 pounds in a single day, but I knew my friend who was just about normal weight couldn't do it.
So I challenged him to a test of his claim to be able to lose ten pounds in a single day. We weighed him on my digital scales at 6:23pm and agreed to meet for another weigh-in the following day at exactly 6:23pm.
His starting weight was 189.3 pounds which is in the normal range for his height.
The next day came and he was visibly thinner. I couldn't believe it. He stepped on the scales and weighed 171.5 pounds. That is an incredible 17.8 pounds of weight loss in a single day!
Of course that was mostly water weight. It is absolutely impossible to lose that much fat in a single day.
But he was visibly thinner and his method had all kinds of applications if it worked on everyone.
I was thinking about slipping into my favorite dress or blue jeans that no longer fit for a night out on the town. Or what about that reunion? Or family pictures? My thoughts raced through all of the possibilities.
But you and I know that guys lose weight easier than us gals. I decided to weigh in and try his method myself.
I weighed in at a portly 168.5 pounds at 6:25pm. The next day, I weighed exactly 156.5 pounds. That is 12 pounds of weight loss in a single day.
My friend tells me that he has NEVER seen a case where someone tried this method and didn't lose at least ten pounds.
Now of course it isn't permanent weight loss. How could it be? If you starve yourself and exercise all day long, you can't possibly lose more than a pound or two of actual fat in a single day.
Is it dangerous? Of course it is! Weight loss experts recommend losing a maximum of one or two pounds per week. Losing ten or more pounds in a single day is NOT good for you. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I would NEVER have tried this method if I wasn't in exellent health and was willing to take the risk. You should never do this either unless you do all of the standard things like checking with your doctor, making sure your will is in order and all of that good stuff.
I do NOT recommend actually trying this method. But, it's a free country. We can write a book about anything we want; right? And you can read any book you want; right? There is no harm in talking about a subject; right?
By this time, you must be trying to figure out what method we used to lose so much weight in a single day. Was it a pill? Nope. We took no pills, drugs, chemicals or even herbs. It has nothing to do with diet at all (although obviously for maximum effect, you would also fast on the day you do this).
